169. Stereotype?
In a gay bar there sat a young queer
Trying to pick up a date with a leer
But what he was drinking
Had everyone thinking
"He's straight. 'Stead of Cosmos, drinks beer."
My experience in gay bars is scarcely extensive, although the chances are good that it exceeds your own. In any case, if it's verisimilitude you're after, "white wine" in the final line should be "cosmos," at least in San Francisco.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the hint, "Amanda." Your comment also made me realize that I had omitted the 2nd 'e' in "Stereotype so that has been fixed, too.
