2287. Deathless dialogue

It's fun to write five lines of verse
One needs to be funny, yet terse
I wish all of mine
Could be thought of as fine
But I fear not that many are cherce.

That final word was spoken in the 1952 Tracy-Hepburn movie, "Pat and Mike."  Spencer's character said of Kathryn's, "Not much meat on her, but what's there is cherce."
