In case you don't know it by now
I'm leaving, but I don't know how
To say it. I'll try
I'm no good at goodbye
So in lieu of "adieu", I'll say "ciao!"
Relax, I'm not going anywhere. But if I ever write a book of these, it'd be the perfect limerick to end on. Also, it qualifies for this week's contest.
This (the farewell verse) is actually the one I voted for (although we have no say in it). I'm surprised and somewhat disappointed that it didn't even make 'honorable mention' at least. It's almost a tearjerker; it's lovely and also sad. (yeah okay, call me crazy, but it takes a crazy to go on a site like this) (I mean that in a good way)

I thought this one would make it in too, but Mad liked my other one, which was also good.
ReplyDeleteI don't usually do sad ones like this; if my limericks involve jerking, it's usually not of tears.
Bad boy! Hahahahahaha! In that case, I'll have to find them. Wait, it'll take me at least a month to find... oh heck, I'm going to read all of them anyway; there's a lot of reading of talented verse I need to catch up on, like 4 years worth, yike!

My first was OP31, I believe, back in July 2012. I've posted some duds along the way - it's damn near unavoidable when a person posts as many as I do. But sometimes, I strike gold too. And it feels awesome when it happens.
